Most of year 6 help younger children in the dining hall and the playground. They do this on a rota basis. Their role is to instigate inclusive games and ensure that children who might not join in enjoy a healthy active play time.

Mu'aad. "I feel good about being a play leader because it makes other children happy and me happy too. Play leading is when you are leading one of the key stage 1 classes. There is one week when year 5s are play leaders and the next is when year 6s do it. Some of us learn about play leading in 'learning to lead' This is when we make games ready to lead the KS1 children in playing. Play leaders also look after our school equipment and sometimes clean the playground."

Who are the Play Leaders?

Key Play Leaders

These three children are the primary Play leaders who meet on a weekly basis to discuss ways to improve our games and create new ones for children to play! However, all of Year 6 are partaking in play-leading this year at lunchtimes.

What do the Play Leaders do?

These fantastic year 6 children help younger children in the playground. They do this on a rota basis. Their role is to instigate inclusive games and ensure a smooth running of the games each day. We have a huge variety of games available to play and the on-duty Play Leaders will set up, host and tidy up these games each lunchtime!

What is our aim?

Our primary aim is for all children to feel included, have fun and enjoy a healthy active play-time!
